The tour

Spend the day with us travelling the most-loved corners of the French Riviera, in the comfort of a small group of fellow travellers and a local driver-host who has shown guests around this coast for over two decades.

Our shared day tours bring together just a handful of guests on each departure — never more than eight. You get the warmth of travelling in a small group, the comfort of an air-conditioned Mercedes, and the kind of personal stories and local detours that only come from a family who has lived on this coast for generations.

We pick you up in Villefranche-sur-Mer — whether you arrive by cruise ship, hotel, or rental apartment. From there we follow the Corniche, weave through the medieval streets of Èze, and finish the afternoon among the yachts and palace gardens of Monaco. Along the way we stop where the light is best for photographs, share what we know about the food, the history, and the people, and leave you free to wander when you’d rather explore on your own.

What you will see and do

Stop 01

Villefranche pick-up

We meet you at the cruise terminal, your hotel, or your apartment in Villefranche. A short walk, a quick hello, and we're on our way.

Stop 02

Promenade des Anglais & the "I ♥ Nice" sign

We drive the famous seafront boulevard of Nice and pause for the picture everyone wants — the big blue letters framed by the Mediterranean.

Stop 03

Old Nice & Cours Saleya market

A short walk into the heart of Vieux Nice: narrow ochre lanes, tucked-away churches, and the open-air market where farmers sell figs, peaches, olive oils, and bright flowers.

Stop 04

Place Masséna

The grand square at the centre of the city — red Italian-style facades, black-and-white chequered paving, and the seven kneeling statues lit from below at night.

Stop 05

Riviera viewpoints

We climb the Moyenne Corniche and stop at two or three of the best lookouts over Villefranche Bay and the Cap-Ferrat peninsula. On a clear day you can see all the way to Italy.

Stop 06

Èze, the perched village

Cobbled lanes, bougainvillea spilling over stone, artisan shops, and a cactus garden at the top with one of the most photographed views in Europe. We visit the historic Fragonard perfumery — entry and a short guided tour are included.

Stop 07

Monaco & Monte-Carlo

We park beside the Prince's Palace, walk the old town to the cathedral and the changing of the guard, then drive down to Monte-Carlo for the Casino square, the Hôtel de Paris, and a stroll past yachts that look like small cruise ships.

Stop 08

Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit

On the way out of Monaco we drive part of the Grand Prix track — the tunnel, the hairpin, the harbour straight — so you can say you've been on the same tarmac the cars take in May.

Stop 09

Coastal drive home

Back along the lower Corniche to Villefranche, with the sea on your right the whole way.

French Riviera Shore Tours

We'll meet you in Villefranche-sur-Mer — most often right at the cruise terminal exit, or directly at your hotel or apartment if you're staying ashore. If your ship is delayed or tendering takes longer than expected, please don't worry — we track arrivals in real time and we will be there when you step off.

Before you go

Important notes for guests

  1. Wear comfortable walking shoes — Èze and Old Nice have cobbled streets and gentle hills.
  2. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sun-cream from April through October; a light jacket for the perched villages.
  3. This is a shared small-group tour. Departures run only on the published dates once a minimum number of guests have joined — we confirm by email a few days before.
  4. Your deposit holds your seat. The balance is paid by card link once the tour is confirmed, or in cash on the day if you prefer.
  5. The Fragonard perfumery visit is included. Entrance fees for other attractions are not included so you're free to choose.
  6. Not suitable for wheelchairs — the perched villages have steps and narrow lanes.
  7. Free time for lunch is built into the schedule; your driver will suggest favourites in Monaco or Èze.
